Emily began her musical training as a violinist and holds degrees from UWA and VCA. Recent awards include finalist in the Herald Sun
Aria, the Opera Foundation Covent Garden award and Audi German award, winner of the Armstead singing competition, and second place in MTO German Australian Opera Grant. For Opera Australia, Emily recently covered Madame Bogdanovitch (The Merry Widow), debuted with the
OA chorus in 2006, and spent two years touring for OA’s Victorian Schools Company. Emily was a founding member of the Victorian Opera chorus, and a Developing Artist with VO from 2010-2011. VO roles include Amore (cover) (L’coronazione di Poppea), Niyad (cover) (Ariadne auf Naxos), Cleopatra (cover) (Giulio Cesare), Papagena (Die Zauberflote), Miss Wordsworth (Albert Herring), Barbarina and Susanna (cover) (Le Nozze di Figaro); for Melbourne Opera: Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro). 2013 concert highlights include Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Mendelssohn’s St Paul. Later in 2014, Emily will perform in the OA chorus for Eugene Onegin and Carmen.
