LISETTE BOLTON
Soprano
Lisette Bolton is a young soprano from Wagga Wagga NSW currently undertaking a Bachelor of Music at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music (MCM). Her passion for opera began following a series of workshops facilitated by the late Richard Gill AO and Victorian Opera in regional NSW. In 2017, she was one of four senior secondary students to be a part of Opera Australia's Regional Student Scholarship program and spent a week's immersion in the company. That same year, Lisette became a scholar with Opera Scholars Australia (OSA) and in 2018 was the recipient of the White Foundation Scholarship.
Since moving to Melbourne, Lisette has been a part of numerous concerts and operas. In 2018, she understudied the role of Blanche in the MCM production of Poulenc's Dialogues des Carmélites. She was a part of the Conservatorium’s Early Music projects Passion, Lament, Glory (2017) and Gloria(2018), both of which were staged religious works which incorporated dance, movement and acrobatics under director Jane Davidson. Lisette was also a soloist in OSA’s rendition of Handel’s Messiah, conducted by Pat Miller, and was one of seven semi-finalists in the OSA Aria competition. This year, Lisette was a chorus member and Countess understudy in the Australian International Productions' tour of Le Nozze di Figaro throughout mainland China.
Lisette makes her Lyric debut in the 2019 production of FLY.
